i’m gonna be cooking today so i don’t know if you’ve heard but at mcdonald’s there’s a new meal which is called the sweetie meal which is based on rapper sweetie’s favorite items which are a big mac chicken nuggets fries and a sprite and it also comes with sweet and sour sauce and a tangy barbecue sauce so when i first saw this i got a craving for mcdonald’s but instead of just going and buying it like a normal person i decided to spend more money and time and make it at home and you can too so the first thing we’re going to need are boneless skinless chicken breasts now the recipe calls for three but these ones are massive so i’m only going to use two and what i need to do is dice these up so that i can put them in the food processor and blend them up even though i only used

going to make it easier to form the nuggets then i’m going to dip the nuggets in the cornstarch and then put them on the parchment paper and i’m just taking maybe like i don’t know a tablespoon and a half i’m going to form them into as best i can nugget shapes so there is my shape dump it in there tap off some of the excess and there we go so i’ve coated the chicken nuggets in the cornstarch and this is actually only about half of the chicken so if you make this at home with this recipe you’ll have about double this and then the next step is i need to make a batter which i’m gonna then dip the chicken nuggets in and then put it back on the parchment paper and freeze it so for
the batter i need one cup of water a tablespoon of garlic powder a tablespoon of onion powder two tablespoons of mustard and i’m just gonna eyeball this that seems right and a cup of flour and i just need to whisk this up it’s gonna make kind of a runny but also sort of thick batter okay oh and i’m also gonna add some pepper i’ll give that another little mix so you can see this is the this is the consistency to dip them i’m actually gonna use a fork i’m gonna stick the fork in like this shake off some of the excess and put it back all right so these are all battered up and now i’m just going to put them in the freezer for about one hour so they can get firm and then we can fry them and in the meantime we can make sweet and sour sauce first of all half a cup of apricot jam into our blender and

next is two tablespoons of corn syrup so i only have the golden corn syrup but i’m sure that white corn syrup works also and the next thing is five teaspoons of rice vinegar sometimes it’s also called rice wine vinegar and then here i have a combination of corn starch garlic powder and salt i’m gonna add that i think my my container was a little wet so the cornstarch is sticking but that’s okay so next i need to put about a half a teaspoon of yellow mustard i’m going to eyeball this again that’s about appetizing and also a half a teaspoon of soy sauce and blend looks good and i’m going to pour this into my little saucepan the heat on and now this is in my pot i’m also gonna add two tablespoons of water and i’m just gonna stir it with the heat on high until it comes up to a boil and thickens up a bit and now that it’s thickened and it’s come to a boil i am going to turn off the heat and then this is a
little weird i’m going to add about a tablespoon and a bit of pickle juice and just combine that in so now the sauce is done i’m just going to transfer it to a small bowl and let it cool down and i think by now our chicken nuggets should be chilled enough so we can start frying them so to cook the chicken nuggets we’re going to be deep frying them so i just have some oil heating up here and i’ve heard that the way that you can test if the oil is ready is if you stick a wooden spoon in and if it starts to bubble which it is right now then your oil is ready to go so i’m just going to put these into the oil i’m using tongs because i’m a bit of a baby but they should start cooking pretty fast i’m just holding them for a bit just so that they won’t stick to the bottom i don’t know if you need to do that i’m
