1/2 tsp dried onion powder
1/2 tsp dried sweet basil
1 sleeve Club® crackers, crushed

i’m glad that you’re here i hope that you’ll enjoy some of the recipes that i share today we’re going to be making million dollar chicken now it’s a casserole that i found on the internet i made it the first time the way they made it and i decided it wasn’t really a million dollars more like three quarters a million dollars so i changed it up a little bit added some new things to it um we’re going to start with everything i have here i have well i had eight strips of bacon i usually use eight strips of bacon i may have ate a couple don’t judge me i was hungry and bacon’s my

page so i’m going to put in the bacon so we’re going to act like eight strips and then we’re going to use about four four four and a half cups of shredded chicken now this is chicken that i did the other day i want to make some chicken stock for canning i need to make some chicken because i want to make a chicken salad with this and some other things that i’m going to be doing during the week so i just went ahead and got this all ready and prepped so if you don’t have this you can stop at the store and pick up a rotisserie chicken you can bake one in the oven you can do one in the crock pot in the smoker i’ve done all those you just need about four like i said four or four and a half
cups of shredded chicken in one way or another so let me get this pieced up should have got a bigger cutting board but for those of you who are always here you know i always mess up and get smaller cutting boards than i actually need and usually a smaller bowl but as you can see i don’t have a whole lot of room here in my kitchen so i use what i can i don’t know what’s going on but there’s all kinds of sirens going fire trucks and ambulances and police cars okay so there’s about three cups and this is gonna be a hefty four cups like i said i did the i did two whole chickens the other night and ended up getting seven quarts of chicken stock that i canned and then i got another

almost gallon and a half of chicken stock and i actually use that decay in black eyed peas and i use that for the liquid in there so there’s always something you can do with chicken stock it’s always best to make your own because you know what’s in it and you know you’re not getting all those chemicals preservatives okay so i think that’s about four cups four and a half cups what do you think yeah maybe a little bit more and we’re putting this in a nine by nine pan you don’t wanna use a nine by three it’ll come out really thin okay let me put this aside the chicken out of the way and wash my hands i’ll be right back okay i guess i don’t need the cutting board either all right to this we’re going to the normal recipe i’ll put those items in first is a can of cream of chicken soup i’m using cream of chicken with herbs sometimes i’ll put cream of bacon in here because i like bacon and you can you can substitute for whatever you want creme mushroom cream of celery whatever cream soup you care your family
excuse me your family likes go ahead and utilize that it also had calls for one cup of cottage cheese and this is just whole cashews no low calorie so i’m gonna put about a cup in there about a half a cup of sour cream it looks like about a half in a four ounce piece of cream cheese it’s just half of a block of cream cheese you want that at room temperature so it’s easy to mix in you can see it’s nice and soft [Music] and then i add um a half a teaspoon of garlic powder a half a teaspoon of um onion powder and about half a teaspoon to three-quarter teaspoon of sweet basil just to give a little bit more flavor in there and that’s all we’re going to put in this part which is the filling find a good spoon here and you just want to bring this all together mix it up well oops and i have one more ingredient

that you know what i put in the refrigerator earlier and i forgot to get out let me grab it i’m going to use because over the weekend i made some pimento cheese if you’re from the south or you know anything about south this is one of our favorite items to snack on make sandwiches with it’s great on white bread it’s just all over good i just eat it on crackers all day long but i’m gonna put about a cup of pimento cheese in there and just mix this all together and this is going to bake for about 45 55 minutes on 350 degrees it’s going to get nice and bubbly and creamy and it’s great served with green beans potatoes whatever tonight i think we’re going to be having black eyed peas because i just did so many quarts of those and i want to see how they turned out with the chicken sauce because i’ve never made it with a chicken stock before i’ve always used just water or actually pork stock so i’ll see what
those taste like okay so get this all brought together get that bacon up on top here we go make sure the bacon’s up yes it is okay and then we’re going to put it like i said in a 9×9 um baking pan spray that down a little bit with some canola oil got it on my finger and i’m about to lose the bowl so the additions that i did were the bacon the seasonings some of the seasonings the basil the onion powder and of course the bacon and the pimento cheese so now just spread that out in your pan it’s going to look a little thick but once this sits in the oven and starts baking this is all gonna melt down it’s gonna start bubbling up okay okay get it all smoothed out and then the original recipe calls for uh one sleeve of ritz crackers i like using the club crackers i just think they’re more buttery i just

like the flavor of them i grew up on clubs so i think that’s why i like them so much i just crushed them in the package just put this back and get better just be careful when you do this because i’ve done this we like that right there it’s getting ready to tell you you will have a problem if it blows up on you so let’s get these out first you can put these in a bag a ziploc bag and just use a rolling pin to smash them down i do like some big pieces on here so i don’t get it all the way crunched down cheat here use my scraper sometimes your hands are the best tools in the kitchen something my grandma always told me okay so spread those ritz cabler crackers whichever used in club or ritz i’m still saying grits but i’m using club and then on top of that i have five tablespoons of butter i’m just going to drizzle that along the top here and then i got about a half of a little less than half of a cup of parmesan cheese here
i’m just going to sprinkle that along the top too that’s just going to add a little bit more saltiness the crackers and this is what gives it the saltiness as you notice i didn’t put any salt in the casserole itself it’s got the bacon in there and i figured that with this on top you really don’t need the extra salt if your family likes it more salty give a taste you can even taste it before you put it in here everything’s cooked it’s not like it’s got raw egg or anything in there and you can taste and see if you want a little bit more salt to it so like i said we’re going to put this in a 350 degree oven it’s already preheated and i will clean up my mess here and i’ll be back in about 45-55 minutes okay

everybody we’re back the it’s been about 30 35 minutes i think i told you earlier it’s 45 to 50 minutes it’s 30 to 40 minutes to make this uncovered so i’m going to the timer went off i checked it it looks golden brown get this out there we go nice and bubbly around the edges here the crackers and parmesan cheese are nice and toasty on top this is the burn your face moment when i always sneak a little bite so i can let you guys know how it tastes that’s stainless steel it’s gonna be hot but it smells so good you see that steam coming out there hmm that’s delicious nice and creamy i can taste i can taste the basil immediately i didn’t put a whole i think i would put about half a teaspoon of basil in there my taste the basil and all that creaminess and the cheese on top nice and salty give this a try it’s my version of million dollar chicken casserole again thank you.
